case <OC:Bacteria>
FUNCTION: Binds the lower part of the 30S subunit head. Binds mRNA in the 70S ribosome, positioning it for translation (By similarity).
SUBUNIT: Part of the 30S ribosomal subunit. Forms a tight complex with proteins S10 and S14 (By similarity).
end case

Comments: Three plastid proteins have large inserts and are annotated as atypical (CHLRE, SCEOB and STIHE). Several other proteins are quite divergent and also atypical; CARRP, CENSY, HELSJ and NANEQ. Some of the proteins have C-terminal tails; after about 225 residues sequences aren't conserved. MYCPE has a very long C-terminal tail and has been made atypical.
