HAMAP: Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus (strain ATCC 15356 / DSM 50701 / NCIB 9529 / HD100) complete proteome
General information

Species:  Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus (strain ATCC 15356 / DSM 50701 / NCIB 9529 / HD100)
Species code: BDEBA
Taxonomy: Bacteria; Proteobacteria; Deltaproteobacteria; Bdellovibrionales; Bdellovibrionaceae; Bdellovibrio (TaxID: 264462) [NEWT/ NCBI]
Description: Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus is a tiny and highly motile delta-proteobacterium that preys on other Gram-negative bacteria. Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus attaches itself to the cell wall of its prey and invades the cell where it goes through a full-life cycle. After it reproduces, the offspring burst out of the cell. Despite its small size, it has a relatively large genome encoding more than 3500 proteins.
Properties: Presence of flagella: Yes
Human pathogen: No
Interaction: No
Number of membranes: 2
Number of inteins:0
Statistics: Number of BDEBA entries in the UniProt Knowledgebase: 277 (277 in UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot + 0 in UniProtKB/TrEMBL)
