| HAMAP: Corynebacterium glutamicum (Brevibacterium flavum) complete proteome |
| Species code: | CORGL |
| Taxonomy: | Bacteria; Actinobacteria; Actinobacteridae; Actinomycetales; Corynebacterineae; Corynebacteriaceae; Corynebacterium (TaxID: 1718) [NEWT/ NCBI] |
| Description: | Bacteria from the genus Corynebacterium are Gram-positive, nonmotile rods which include both pathogenic and non-pathogenic species that can live in a large variety of habitats. In addition to being animal and human pathogens, they have been isolated from soil, plant material, waste water, and dairy products. Corynebacterium glutamicum was discovered in the 1950s in Japan as a natural producer of glutamic acid. |
