| Description: |
Dictyoglomus thermophilum (strain ATCC 35947 / DSM 3960 / H-6-12) is a Gram-negative, obligately anaerobic and extremely thermophilic bacterium isolated from a slightly alkaline hot spring (Tsuetae Hot Spring) in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. It has an optimum temperature for growth of 78 degrees Celsius and forms a characteristic cell-association structure called 'rotund bodies'. |
