HAMAP: Mannheimia succiniciproducens (strain MBEL55E) complete proteome
General information

Species:  Mannheimia succiniciproducens (strain MBEL55E)
Species code: MANSM
Taxonomy: Bacteria; Proteobacteria; Gammaproteobacteria; Pasteurellales; Pasteurellaceae; Basfia (TaxID: 221988) [NEWT/ NCBI]
Description: Capnophilic, non-spore-forming, mesophilic, Gram-negative coccobacillus that inhabits the bovine rumen. It produces volatile fatty acids in anaerobic conditions, efficiently fixes CO(2) and produces substantial amounts of succinic acid. It will probably be possible to use this bacterium for the efficient production of succinic acid, an important industrial chemical that can be used as a green feedstock for the manufacture of biodegradable polymers, synthetic resins and other chemical additives and resins.
Properties: Presence of flagella: No
Human pathogen: No
Interaction: Animal commensal in Mammalia
Number of membranes: 2
Number of inteins:0
Statistics: Number of MANSM entries in the UniProt Knowledgebase: 2367 (485 in UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot + 1882 in UniProtKB/TrEMBL)
