HAMAP: Pelodictyon luteolum (strain DSM 273) (Chlorobium luteolum (strain DSM 273)) complete proteome
General information

Species:  Pelodictyon luteolum (strain DSM 273) (Chlorobium luteolum (strain DSM 273))
Species code: PELLD
Taxonomy: Bacteria; Chlorobi; Chlorobia; Chlorobiales; Chlorobiaceae; Chlorobium/Pelodictyon group; Pelodictyon (TaxID: 319225) [NEWT/ NCBI]
Description: Bacteria from the Pelodyctyon genus are obligate anaerobic, phototrophic and nonmotile organisms. They contain gas vacuoles as well as photosynthetic pigments located in the cytoplasmic membrane and the chlorosomes. They require vitamin B1 for growth. They live in hydrogen sulfide-containing water and mud of freshwater, brackish water, and marine environments. Cells of Pelodictyon luteolum are rod-shaped and ovoid and are found as single cells or aggregates.
Properties: Presence of flagella: No
Human pathogen: No
Interaction: No
Number of membranes: 2
Number of inteins: 1
Statistics: Number of PELLD entries in the UniProt Knowledgebase: 2075 (296 in UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot + 1779 in UniProtKB/TrEMBL)
