| Description: |
Streptococci are non-motile, Gram-positive bacteria with widely varying pathogenic potential. S.gordonii is a commensal plaque bacterium, and is a primary colonizer of the multispecies biofilm on tooth surfaces forming dental plaque and possibly cavities and contributing to gun disease. It is also an agent of endocarditis. It is naturally transformable. |
