Comments [?]

Function In vivo, quickly hydrolyzes the ureidoacrylate peracid to avoid toxicity, but can also hydrolyzes ureidoacrylate that is formed spontaneously from ureidoacrylate peracid. One of the products of hydrolysis, carbamate, hydrolyzes spontaneously, thereby releasing one of the pyrimidine rings nitrogen atoms as ammonia and one of its carbons as CO2 (By similarity).
Catalytic activity (Z)-3-ureidoacrylate peracid + H(2)O = (Z)-3-peroxyaminoacrylate + NH(3).
(Z)-3-ureidoacrylate + H(2)O = (Z)-3-aminoacrylate + CO(2) + NH(3).
(Z)-2-methyl-ureidoacrylate peracid + H(2)O = (Z)-2-methyl-peroxyaminoacrylate + CO(2) + NH(3).
case <OC:Escherichia> or <OC:Shigella>
Induction Up-regulated by the nitrogen regulatory protein C (NtrC also called GlnG) and repressed by RutR (Potential).
end case
Similarity Belongs to the isochorismatase family. RutB subfamily.
