Identifier
PAD1
Protein name
RecName: Full=Flavin prenyltransferase PAD1, mitochondrial;
EC 2.5.1.129;
Gene name
PAD1

Comments [?]

Function Flavin prenyltransferase that catalyzes the synthesis of the prenylated FMN cofactor (prenyl-FMN) for the ferulic acid decarboxylase FDC1. The prenyltransferase is metal-independent and links a dimethylallyl moiety from dimethylallyl monophosphate (DMAP) to the flavin N5 and C6 atoms of FMN.
Catalytic activity RHEA:37743: dimethylallyl phosphate + FMNH2 = phosphate + prenyl-FMNH2
EC 2.5.1.129
Subunit Oligomer.
Subcellular location Mitochondrion.
Similarity Belongs to the UbiX/PAD1 family.
case not <AnyFeature:TransitM>
Miscellaneous This protein may be expected to contain an N-terminal transit peptide but none has been predicted.
