case <Length>370>
Function Assembles with the major capsid protein to form an icosahedral capsid. The major and minor capsid proteins are incorporated into the capsid in about a 90/10 ratio respectively. Once the capsid is formed, encapsidates one single copy of the viral genome.
Subunit Interacts with the connector protein and the major capsid protein.
Subcellular location Virion.
Miscellaneous The minor capsid protein is produced by a -1 ribosomal frameshift near the C-terminus of the ORF coding for the major capsid protein, producing a protein with a C-terminal extension compared to the major capsid protein. The major capsid protein is produced by conventional translation of the same ORF.
Similarity Belongs to the T7virus minor capsid protein family.

Subunit Homohexamer. Interacts with the connector protein and the minor capsid protein. Interacts with the capsid assembly scaffolding protein; capsid proteins and scaffolding proteins form building blocks that assemble to form the procapsid, each hexamer of the major capsid protein interacting with 2 scaffolding proteins.
Domain The N-terminus interacts with an internal region of the major capsid protein subunit in an adjacent capsomere (intercapsomeric interactions) to stabilize the capsid.
Subcellular location Virion.
Similarity Belongs to the T7virus major capsid protein family.
